B’s Mobility Ride…Benjamin& Jenna Blum

I have never written a post like this….thank you for reading.

When I first met Wendy Kopp ,the director of marketing for Panera Bread (The Howley Bread Group) to discuss the possibility of working together, she told me about a local child named Benjamin. Panera Bread was just beginning the process of organizing events at several of their locations in an effort to help the McDermott family secure funds to purchase a ramp van.

Benjamin is eight years old and has MSA Type 2, a type of muscular dystrophy.  He was my very special guest on yesterday’s show. If you have a little time please listen (podcast below) and you will hear from his voice the absolute joy and spirit that I hope you will see in person if you can join us this Tuesday for our “dough raising” event.

It is tough to describe how overwhelmed I am with wanting to help Benjamin and his family in securing a ramp van so that Benjamin is able to transport his power chair and have the freedom to be out and about. I am working on a much longer piece about this but in an effort to really get the word out I will keep this brief.

This Tuesday, February 24th from 5-7pm at the East Greenwich Panera Bread in Rhode Island we are hosting author Jenna Blum. You can read all about it by clicking on the previous link. Please stop by, meet Benjamin, have a special book signed by Jenna, meet Woodrow the Stormchasing Lab, decorate cookies with us and maybe even win a raffle prize! All of the money raised will go directly to the family.  If you aren’t able to join in this event and would like to participate please visit HERE.

It would be awesome to have this post get to as many people as possible. I am asking you to please consider sharing it.

Thank you,

Robin
